Model 113

The established Model 110 roving splicer has proved its reliability over several years of service. Customer feedback demonstrated the need for another, even more compact splicer, for use in difficult and space-limited operating environments. The result is the Airbond Model 113 - simple and light like the Model 110, but in its most compact form, barely half the size. It is however just as capable as the Model 110 of making neat, strong joints in rovings. The 113 is an ultra-compact, effective, and user-friendly tool for making splices in these very heavy yarns.  

The design brief for the Model 113 was to match the Model 110 performance, while allowing the customer to specify the overall size of the splicer, by choosing from a range of handle types. So, although developed as a very compact splicer, the Model 113 can be supplied with a full-length handle, so that functionally it becomes identical to a Model 110.  

  • The 113 makes very long, weakly-intermingled splices to join yarns such as glass which cannot withstand sharp bending.
  • The 113 makes very long, strongly-intermingled splices to join yarns such as aramids, which are inherently very strong, and which need a correspondingly strong splice strength.

113 Series splicers are available in nine forms, according to which accessories are chosen by the user.
