Model 164
Airbond’s hands-free wrapping splicer for heavyweight monofilaments and fibrillated fibres.
The Model 161 wrapper splicer was introduced by Airbond to handle circumstances in which normal splicing didn’t work – such as monofilaments, braided yarn, very heavily-sized or coated yarn, and very high-twist yarn. Then, in response to customer requirements, Airbond added the Model 162 – a splicer attached to a light harness. The Model 162 works like the 161, but allows the operator to have full control of the splicing action, with both hands free throughout. Market demands then led to the Model 163 – a version of the Model 161 which can handle very heavy materials, up to about 25000 tex.
Now, the Model 164 is the inevitable next step – a splicer which works like the Model 161, has the hands-free characteristics of the Model 162, and can splice huge yarns, like the Model 163.
Like the other models in the 160 Series, the 164 uses the same air supply as that used by the rest of the Airbond range. Simply plug it into the same air supply as usual, and make the wrapped joint. And, like the other models, the Model 162 is rugged, reliable and simple to maintain.
