Model 162
Airbond’s hands-free wrapping splicer for monofilaments and fibrillated fibres.
Airbond’s Model 161 wrapper splicer represented a major departure for the company, when it confronted the situations in which pneumatic splicing just won’t work. Examples include: Monofilaments, braided yarn, very heavily-sized or coated yarn, very high-twist yarn
The Model 161 wrapper splicer delivered the answer. But there are some circumstances in which even the Model 161 is not the best solution – it might be advantageous for the operator to have both hands free while splicing. The Model 162 provides that solution. The splicer is configured so that it can be attached to a light harness. This allows the operator to have full control of the splicing action, with both hands free throughout.
Like the Model 161, the 162 jointing method (patent pending) does not need electric motors or chargers; it just uses the same air supply as that used by the rest of the Airbond range. Simply plug it into the same air supply as usual, and make the wrapped joint. And, as our customers have come to expect, the Airbond Model 162 is rugged, reliable and simple to maintain.
